Chris Dunkley, Chief Executive Officer
Chris joined Rothamsted in October2013 and was instrumental in the creation of RoCRE. He has been CEO since September 2015 and leads a multi-skilled team who work to facilitate and foster meaningful connections for the benefits of all in the agri related research sectors. Prior to joining Rothamsted, he was Head of NPD and Marketing at Ipsos Retail Performance, bringing online analytical products to global markets. Chris was founding director of The Sparc Technology Network and Bright Sparc Awards for Technology Led businesses and has a background in technology and research related business incubation, running a number of successful incubation and high growth programmes, leading teams in both start-ups and global organisations.
Chris is a Luton native but has jumped over the border to Northampton and can often be spotted on his bike in the beautiful Northants countryside.
Katie Simmons, Head of Conferencing
Katie joined RoCRE in January 2016 and, as Head of Conferencing, has responsibility for leading, growing and developing the conference and catering business by coordinating several departments and teams to ensure that all clients’ needs are met and events are run efficiently. Before joining RoCRE, Katie spent 13 years as Head of Conference Logistics for ICBI, a division of Informa, where she grew the portfolio of events to 52 per year and managed budgets in excess of £10 million. Katie has also worked at Brocket Hall and started her career organising training courses at Thomson Financial.
Katie is a Hertfordshire native and enjoys tennis and walking her dog, Fred, in her spare time.
Asmaa Shariff, Head of Client Services
Asmaa joined RoCRE in March 2015 and is responsible for the provision of services to companies based in the Daniel Hall and Lawes Open Innovation Hub buildings. She also oversees RoCRE’s marketing and social media channels. Asmaa joined RoCRE from The Economist Group in London and has a background in sales, event management and property management. She is also the team’s resident polyglot and the first point of contact for international clients.
Asmaa is a London transplant and enjoys growing vegetables in her cottage garden.
